It is located on Luis Muñoz Rivera Street, on the corner of Ruiz Belvis behind the Catholic Church. This monument is dedicated to the founders of the town of Cabo Rojo, especially to the 128 families who signed the petition and to their leader Don Nicolás Ramírez de Arellano who was the person that the Caborrojeños appointed to represent them before the governor of that time. It is one of the tallest obelisks in the Antilles and one of the first to be built.
