It is located on Barbosa Street, corner Ruiz Belvis, in front of the Catholic Church. Salvador Brau was born in Cabo Rojo in 1842. He stood out as a historian, author, playwright, poet, journalist, essayist and sociologist. Brau was appointed by the provincial council to carry out research at the Archive of India in Seville on historical sources. In 1904 he published \u201cThe History of Puerto Rico\u201d and in his last years he received the appointment of Official Chronicler of the country. His work places him among the greatest Latin American mentalities. He died in San Juan on November 5, 1912. His monument is a work of the Spanish sculptor, F.
