The first structure of the City Hall was built in 1907, under the administration of Atty. Jos\u00e9 A. Fleytas y Colberg. Then, in 1958, Mrs. Blanca Colberg; the first Mayor of our city, rebuilt it with a completely modern design for that time. It is worth mentioning that the building was named \u201cCasa Alcald\u00eda Dr. Ram\u00f3n Emeterio Betances y Alac\u00e1n\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">In 2003, under the administration of the late Mayor Santos E. Padilla Ferrer; A new construction of City Hall began, which was completed in 2007. In 2007, under the administration of Hon. Perza Rodr\u00edguez Qui\u00f1ones; The new City Hall was inaugurated, which was named Santos E. \u201cSan\u201d Padilla Ferrer; in honor of this great human being who fought to give his people this beautiful structure and who was unable to enjoy it because death surprised him a few months before the inauguration.
