The Los Pr\u00f3ceres Museum was inaugurated on April 6, 1995, it is located on the grounds adjacent to the Rebekah Colberg sports complex. The Museum is a neoclassical structure and its front columns are similar to those of the Cuna de Betances Lodge and the roundabout reminds us of the Los Morrillos Lighthouse since they are very similar.<\/span><\/p>

This project was the creation of the administration of Don Santos Ortiz Ruiz. It was part of the commemoration activities for the Fifth Centennial of the discovery of Puerto Rico.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In recent years, new exhibition rooms have been developed dedicated to the life and work of our illustrious men and women, indigenous culture and Caborroje\u00f1o artists. Currently the Museum has 7 permanent exhibition rooms and 2 temporary exhibition rooms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the years that the Museum has been established, different art exhibitions have been presented, both by Puerto Rican artists and from abroad. The museum's private collection has more than 100 works of art that have been donated to the Museum and exhibited for the delight of our visitors.<\/span><\/p>

In the Museum's private collection we have works by Antonio Martorell, Augusto Mar\u00edn, Lorenzo Omar, John Balossi, Fernando Santiago, Hiram Palermo and Sixto Febus among others.<\/span><\/p>

The vision of this arts and culture venue is to recognize the life and work of illustrious men and women from Puerto Rico and specifically from Cabo Rojo, since they have contributed in an outstanding way to the progress and development of our Borincana island.<\/span><\/p>

The Museum has the roundabout dedicated to Don Luis A. Ferr\u00e9 Aguayo, the Salvador Brau and Asencio Amphitheater where plays, recitals and workshops are presented, among others. Outdoor terrace and ample parking. The staff works in favor of culture, art, the history of the distinguished heroes of our town and our beautiful island, promoting historical interest for all generations, creating an educational environment to enrich the intellect of each human being.<\/span><\/p>

Services Offered by the Museum<\/p>

The Museum provides the opportunity for new artists to exhibit their works in the temporary exhibition galleries. Tour guide service is offered for tours within the Museum. Please call to coordinate visits.<\/p>
