The main enamels of the coat of arms, blue, red and silver, coincide with fundamental aspects in the lives of two eminent Caborroje\u00f1os; Don Nicol\u00e1s Ram\u00edrez de Arellano and Dr. Ram\u00f3n Emeterio Betances.<\/p>

These three colors are latent both in the coat of arms of the Ram\u00edrez de Arellano lineage, as well as in the symbols of the ideals of Betances. In the second case, they constituted the chromatic representation of the principles of freedom, applied to Betances indistinctly to every human being.<\/p>

The red tip or triangle symbolizes the \u201cred cape\u201d formed in the Morillos. The blue and white, with the anchors, represent the sea that bathes our coasts. The flaming sword is the attribute of San Miguel de Arc\u00e1ngel, patron saint of our town. Finally, the Mural Crown that enhances and distinguishes it is the emblem of the municipality. The shield has 5 crowns which means that as a City it has more than 50 thousand inhabitants.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The flag contains elements with the same symbolism as the Coat of Arms, ignoring the sword, the anchors and the mural crown. It should be noted that both were officially approved, both by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and by the Municipal Assembly of Cabo Rojo, in 1971. The Flor del Sebuc\u00e1n is the official flower of Cabo Rojo. Abundant in the southern part of the town, it offers a beautiful and tender white flower. The Sebuc\u00e1n reaches 20 feet in height, standing out majestically in our flora.
